Grgas has completed more site surveys than any other engineering firm in Canada.
Site surveys determine the most appropriate location for the antenna and indoor equipment as well as cable routing between the two.
During the site survey, potential obstruction to the line of sight is evaluated and avoided.
The landlord, property manager and satellite user are often involved in the site survey to ensure that the needs of all of these parties are taken into account, thereby increasing the likelihood that the location will be accepted.
Grgas ensures that the location selected for the antenna will have sufficient structural capacity and integrity to ensure that the antenna stays in position and on target throughout the range of design wind speeds as high as 125-mph.
Site survey reports include:
Completed site survey questionnaire
Landlord and customer interviews
Calculation of design wind speed
Structural analysis of wind loads on building
Determination of suitable foundation type
Ballast requirements for non-penetrating roof mounts (NPMs)
